Doug Vernon Owner/Optical Dispenser
Doug loves the challenge of finding the right frame for every face. The first thing Doug will want to know about you, is your occupation. "What someone does tells me a lot about the person and what sort of glasses they require," he says. "A professional person usually requires a more conservative frame. A healthcare professional, a frame with more eye protection, whereas a person who works in the fashion industry can wear something different, even something outlandish that conveys their individuality."
Mandeep Paul Store Manager/Optical Dispenser
Mandeep Paul joined Styleyes from New Zealand 5 years ago, and made such an impact, he is now store manager. Working under Doug’s careful eye, Mandeep is carrying on the tradition of finding the right frame everytime. Mandeep studied Optometry in New Zealand, and recently completed his Optical Dispensing certificate. Mandeep can ensure the best results for your new spectacles by combining the latest fashion trends with the best lenses to suit your prescription.
Lisa Druce Optical Dispenser
Lisa Druce joined the Styleyes team in 2000. Lisa is a fully qualified Optical Dispenser. Four years ago Lisa left to have her son, Taz. After a short break, she returned to work part-time and is now back full-time. Lisa has her own individual style. Her love of colour, and infusing colours, is evident in some of Doug’s own range of frames. Lisa also has an extensive knowledge of optical lenses to ensure your finished spectacles look and feel great.
David Rinkel Optical Dispenser
David Rinkel is a relative new comer at Styleyes; he joined the team a year ago and has quickly become a valuable member of our staff. David spends most of his time in the lab making your spectacles. A fully qualified Optical Dispenser with 20 years experience, David is the go-to man out the back. Whether it's putting in a screw, doing repairs or cutting the lenses for a complex prescription, David runs the backroom with precision and a calm cool manner.
Maddie Vernon Receptionist
Maddie is the newest member of the team. She is working part-time whilst studying Arts at Melbourne University. Maddie's job is to make you feel welcome, to answer your general enquiries and to keep the place looking good. Maddie's friendly demeanour is garanteed to make her popular all our clients.
Leeanne Vernon Owner/office manager
As Doug’s wife, Leeanne had been involved in Styleyes since day one. Leeanne gives advice on frame selection purely from a fashion perspective. When it comes to the lenses, she leaves it to the experts! Leeanne spends most of her time tucked away in the back room making sure everything runs smoothly.
Our Machines
The workshop is the engine room of Styleyes, as all of our spectacles are made in-store. That's a rarity these days. (Most places send their work out to huge labs where your job is just a number). At Styleyes, every job is discussed to ensure the lenses are fitted to best compliment your frame, and to give you a great result both optically, and aesthetically. Indeed, every lens is checked to ensure you get the thinnest, most comfortable specatacles possible. If we are not happy with your lenses, they are rejected!
Tinting Pots
At Styleyes, we also make your prescription sunglasses. It's a messy procedure, and it takes a lot of time and effort, but we work hard to ensure you get the right colour and density.
